Like us, trees grow, thrive, change, are battered by storms and weather, become broken and, as they age, become very unique. They become as we all wish to be - unique and individual.
For me, trees take me back to my Canadian roots. I grew up going to camp in Ontario where we jumped over tree roots at to get to the dinning hall, we portaged on tree-lined paths and often forged our own path among the trees in Quetico Park. We camped beneath trees at night for protection. At night, we strung up our packs on the strongest branch to keep our food safe from animals.
Various forms of trees of life also also appear in folklore, culture and fiction, often relating to immortality or fertility. Both forests and individual trees were considered sacred and this reverence has persisted through the centuries.
Tell your story, celebrate your family, your heritage or your roots with one of our beautiful sterling silver Trees of Life. Remind yourself that, like a tree, we are always trying to reach for light.
