We cannot believe THIS is happening...As our concept is ever evolving, we've been dreaming of this store concept for a long time  - the warm shop feel, the afternoon light pouring in, the placement of the gold and silver, the marble & glass displays, how we interact with our customers and the soulful accessories. Yes, we are opening our doors at 2525 Yonge Street, a few blocks North of Eglinton in Toronto along side brands we've admired like Club Monaco, Lululemon and Mendocino!

While we have opened countless pops ups since 2005 and three stores since 2014, this one is different. We taken all that learning and put it into one beautiful, newly renovated shop for our line of personalized sterling silver and gold jewelry and our line-up of curated accessories. We've learnt so much from our customers. We've discovered they want:  a personalized experience (we are the anti mall), products that tell a story, lots of new things every week, to touch and feel what they are buying (no one wants everything behind glass and doors), lovely packaging even for smaller $25 gifts (one less thing to think about), convenience, parking, ethically-made feel-good brand and unique well-priced offerings that are good quality. So, how do you deliver in less than 1000 square feet?

Nickeisha from Nola Designs was instrumental in hearing our customer's needs and making our dream come true. She consulted with us, visited all our stores, heard our wish list  (and really listened) and put together a plan. When she finally presented it to us, we loved everything immediately! With a vision in hand, we sprung into action - hiring designers, builders, paint finishing experts, electricians and painters. We worked with film set builders - rather than construction companies - to set the stage for something different.

 

 

We were excited to engage with customers with an interactive space - filled with things to touch, feel and even photograph. We wanted to create an experience for our customers. Customers sometimes refer to us as "Etsy Live" (a crafty online shop filled with makers and artists) and we wanted to deliver that in a unique Suetables space.

With new arrivals weekly, our NEW ARRIVALS wall will keep things fresh and interesting and fun for every visit.

We worked with Terry Davidson, a film and TV set designer, carpenter, builder of anything you can dream (and the husband of one of our managers). He has launched and built all our stores (even travelling to Montreal to help us!) and has built all of our custom displays. He called in some of Toronto's most talented film builders - Scott Warren and Gregory Seldon, to support our vision. 

 

Our space at 2525 Yonge Street in Toronto includes a 'Charm bar' and a hand stamping table - with stools so you can discuss what you want personalized and then watch us at work. We also have our "Try Bar" where you can sit with a friend and we can style your jewelry (no more standing on our tippy toes trying to do up clasps for you!)

Heather Lafleur, an illustrator and branding expert working from Munich (and an old high school friend), oversaw the seamless integration of our corporate design elements into our new retail concept (as she has done for all our shops) as well as created an illustration for the storefront window – yes, the perfect spot for a selfie!

We are so excited to see the new custom illustration come to life on our window – "Words from the Heart" – an inspirational supergraphic of all the sentiments we daily hand stamp for you inside.  We hope you will come and sit on our bench and enjoy the fall sunshine when you visit our shop. Better, yet, inside and we can discuss what sentiment, word, intention or name you want stamped on your own piece of jewelry or charm.
