Start With The Tiniest Step

Start With The Tiniest Step

Susan Henderson

I wonder what would have happened if I said yes to going back to my career in TV communications in 2008 (when I need a full-time job) and said “no” to turning my hobby into a business.

Sometimes I picture my soul poking me in some other way and I would have found my path.

Eventually you have to give in to your heart.

What is whispering inside of you right now?

“What you focus on on expands,” a friend once reminded me when I was going through a hard time.

Whether you desperately need a change, need to find a part of yourself again or want to try something new...what is that little voice inside your head saying to you?

Maybe this is your time.

Maybe you have had other sign posts, pokes or reasons to shake things up.

What are you here to do? What do you want or need more of in your life?

For me, in 2008 when I was going through my divorce, it was something to call my own that was not about everyone else's needs - cooking, grocery shopping, picking up piles of lego and toys, walking the dog and caring for others. Many people, very often moms, lose time for their passions or interests as they devote their energy to others. As our responsibilities increase, so many woman stop scheduling or taking any time for themselves - whether it is exercise, painting, yoga, travel, a jog, a coffee with friends or even  a half an hour to curl up and read a book. For me, I desperately needed more creativity in my life. I needed to build something meaningful. I was lost.

At the time, I letter pressed LIVE YOUR TRUTH on a necklace and wore it as a reminder. In the middle of changing diapers, grocery shopping and cooking, I had forgotten to listen to that little voice inside my head.

It took the loss of my marriage to remind me.

During this time, I loved letter pressing words for people and hearing their stories. Peoples words and stories reminded me that we are not alone. We all have challenges.

We all get lost.

Whenever I am having one of "those" days (you know, when you just want to hide in your bed, when you feel like throwing in the towel, when wonder what the hell you are doing), I ask myself, “what do I need more of?”

I think if I can get into my heart and go where that leads me, I am a little closer to who I am and what I am meant to be doing.

I would love to letter press your intentions or soul goals on one of our pendants.

Every step you take towards bringing more what you want into your life, makes our journey less pointless and less overwhelming.

Often when we allow ourselves to consider something we want in our lives, our heads get way ahead of us, our brains start going crazy. It feels impossible and overwhelming fast.

Start with the tiniest step.
