Unisex Sailing Rope Bracelets

Unisex Sailing Rope Bracelets

Susan Henderson

I am in my happy place with my boys making unisex sailing rope bracelets poolside with the help of my eldest son. Every summer, I take sailing rope and use a hot flame to permanently glue them onto their wrists or necks - often with a charm or a dog tag and usually before they head off to camp. So,when our North York rep discovered these cool upscale magnetic silver clasps, I was thrilled about the possibility of a removable summer unisex bracelet.

Braided sailing rope bracelets were a childhood staple.

We summered in Kennebunk, Maine and wore these white bracelets on our tanned, salty wrists - roaming free on the cove with a pack of kids of all ages, our soft winter feet becoming hard running around barefoot all summer long.

As the sample bracelets are all different sizes, colour and styles (made from sailing rope collected over the years), we will be selling them at Baumaris Yacht Club (BYC) in Muskoka at the end of July. Of course, all three boys in the house have taken one. And they say their friends will want them too. And I have to save one for my step son at camp. So, I am not really sure how many will be left. I do have some cute tiny tween sizes for girls or boys. The ones for girls are so cute with charms added.

You can email me at to reserve one for you while quantities last. They are $25 (pst - John Hardy sells similar ones for over $200

You can add any of these sterling silver charms We think mini Billy Anchor looks great for girls or boys or just wear them as is.
